Suspicious Incident Behind Pizzeria Involving 'Flickering Light'
The staff at the popular local business told police they thought the people involved may have been attempting to set something on fire.

ARMONK, NY — Strange happenings at a local business turned out to create some tension over the weekend, but may have been less threatening than initially believed.
The North Castle Police Department says that a suspicious incident took place Saturday evening behind Amore Pizza in Armonk.
On Saturday, around 7:45 p.m., officers responded to Kent Place after a report that restaurant employees had noticed people in the rear of the building along with a flickering light. The staff thought the people involved may have been attempting to set something on fire.

Those involved in the incident left the area before police arrived. Surveillance video footage showed that three people walked behind a bin of soiled linens, outside of the back of the restaurant. After 35-45 seconds, the group quickly left the area after being confronted by restaurant staff.
A preliminary investigation by police found that there was "no evidence of any attempt to ignite a fire, engage in vandalism, theft, nor in any other criminal activity." Police noted that no evidence of damage in or around the restaurant was found.

Further investigation found that individuals similar to those seen at Amore had also gone to other businesses in the vicinity. After police reviewed video footage and interviewed personnel at the other locations, they found no indication of "nefarious intent."
North Castle police say that the investigation into the incident is ongoing. If anyone notices any suspicious activity, they should immediately contact the North Castle Police Department at 914-273-9500.
