Westchester PD Officers Credited With Saving Mount Kisco Man's Life
The 58-year-old was lying on his back, foaming at the mouth and in cardiac arrest, when WCPD officers arrived on the scene.

MOUNT KISCO, NY — For the second time in as many weeks, Westchester County Police Department officers are being credited with saving the life of a person who had stopped breathing and had no detectable pulse.
When they responded to a 911 call about a man down at a business on Hubbels Drive, the officers found a 58-year-old man lying on his back, foaming at the mouth and in cardiac arrest, at the scene.

A good Samaritan had performed some chest compressions, but when the officers arrived, the man was non-responsive. Patrol Officers John Hecht, Michel Mignone and Francisca Menaez immediately began CPR. Assisted by Sgt. Timothy Hicks, the officers used a bag valve mask for air flow and applied pads to the man’s chest so an automated external defibrillator could be used.
A Westchester EMS paramedic and Mount Kisco Volunteer Ambulance personnel arrived a short time later. The WEMS paramedic administered multiple shocks from the AED and restored the man’s heartbeat. Mount Kisco VAC rushed the now breathing patient to Northern Westchester Hospital Center with an escort from the WCPD.
