73-Year-Old Man Killed By Coach Bus In Chelsea: NYPD
The collision is the latest in a string of fatal Chelsea crashes.
CHELSEA, NY — A 73-year-old man was hit and killed by a coach bus in Chelsea Saturday, police said.
The elderly man was crossing 10th Avenue at W. 34th Street when he was struck by an Academy charter bus at 9:42 p.m., a police spokesman said.
Medics rushed to the scene and found the man lying in the middle of the road with severe head trauma. The man was pronounced dead on the scene, authorities said.

The coach bus continued along 10th Avenue and stopped several block from the incident. The NYPD's Collision Investigation Squad is looking into the incident.
The victim's identity is being held until his family is notified.

The crash is the latest in a string of accidents where pedestrians were mowed down by bus and truck drivers, including a Queens man who was plowed into on W. 23rd Street near Eighth Avenue when a manic driver jumped the curb. The truck driver crashed into two other cars before speeding off.
An 80-year-old woman recently died from her injuries nearly a month after a truck slammed into her on Seventh Avenue at W. 16th Street.
