Bill De Blasio To Hold Chelsea Town Hall

NYC Mayor Bill de Blasio to hold town hall in Chelsea on Wednesday.

CHELSEA, NY — Mayor Bill de Blasio is hosting a town hall in Chelsea on Wednesday, a city spokesperson told Patch.

The community meeting starts at 7 p.m. at the NYC Lab School for Collaborative Studies, located at 333 W 17th St. NYC Council member Corey Johnson will join de Blasio at the meeting. Johnson represents Manhattan's council district 3, which includes Chelsea, Greenwich Village and other neighborhoods. Other politicians expected to be in tow are U.S. Rep. Jerry Nadler, Manhattan borough president Gale Brewer and New York state senator Brad Hoylman.

"The town hall is a great opportunity for New Yorkers to ask their questions and bring their concerns to the Mayor and his administration," a spokeswoman told DNA Info, which was first to report the news. "We expect homelessness, affordable housing, education and quality of life issues to be discussed."

De Blasio hosted a town hall last week in Bed-Stuy, during which the mayor faced questions about his plan to open 90 new homeless shelters throughout New York City, starting with three in Crown Heights. The locations of the remaining homeless shelters have not yet been announced.
