Developers Plan New 10-Story Office Building In Chelsea
Developers are planning a new office building in the heart of Chelsea.

CHELSEA, NY — The longtime owners of a small Chelsea building is planning to demolish it and build a new 10-story office space in its place, according to plans recently filed with the city.
Developers plan to raze the structure at 74 Eighth Ave. and 254 W. 14th Street to make way for a brand new office building, according to demolition applications filed with the city's buildings department. DNAinfo was first to report news of the plans.
The developer, Chun Woo Realty Corp, is planning to build a 10-story commercial building in place of the two existing addresses. The group has owned the property for nearly thirty years, company president Gene Kaufman told DNAinfo.

“We’re not developers who moved in and are pushing small businesses out. We’re actually the longtime permanent owners of the building, and it was actually our business,” Kaufman told DNAinfo.
Currently, the two story buildings in Chelsea house a deli and a candy shop.
