Ex-Boyfriend Investigated In Death Of Woman At Chelsea High-Rise

The 22-year-old may have died while having sex with her ex-boyfriend, according to a report.

CHELSEA, NY — Investigators are exploring if the ex-boyfriend of the woman who was found dead in a luxury Chelsea high-rise is to blame for her death, police sources told the New York Post.

The woman, Ying Huang, 22, was discovered in the bathtub of the 54th floor of the ritzy Eugene tower on W. 31st Street near Ninth Avenue on Thursday, a police spokesman said.

Huang, a recent graduate from Berkeley College, partied with her old boyfriend Wednesday night before the two headed to her luxury apartment, where Huang may have died while the pair were having sex, the victim's old flame allegedly told a friend, the New York Post reported.

“[The ex] said they were at a party in Brooklyn. They were drinking heavily and she took molly. He admits to having sex with her before he left her apartment,” a police source told The Post.

In a deleted text, the man allegedly messaged a friend, “I was having sex with my ex and she wasn’t breathing,” the police source told The Post.

Security camera footage shows Huang staggering into the elevator and hitting her head on the Chelsea building's lobby floor. The ex-boyfriend is seen dragging the 22-year-old out of the elevator onto the 54th floor and then again leaving the building two hours later, the newspaper reported.

Officers arrived at the apartment after a friend requested a wellness check on Huang, a police spokesman said.

She was discovered submerged under water in the tub with bruising, the tabloid reported.

As of Tuesday afternoon, no suspects had been charged with a crime in connection to Huang's death. Her parents plan to travel from China to meet with investigators, according to The Post.
