Gray-Haired Bank Robber Wanted For Spree Of Chelsea Heists, NYPD

Police are searching for the brazen robber who has hit three banks in less than a week.

CHELSEA, NY — Police are hunting a gray haired, mature bank robber wanted for a spree of hold-ups in Chelsea.

The first heist occurred at a Bank of America on Eighth Avenue between West 16th and 17th streets at 1:45 p.m. on June 28, when the robber threatened a teller and demanded cash. The robber fled with $120, dressed in a green jacket over a red polo shirt, police said.

He struck the same Bank of America four days later on July 2 at 8:45 a.m. Again, the man threatened the teller and demanded money, but this time the teller walked away from the transaction window and the robber left empty handed.

That same day nearly 40 minutes later, the thief struck a Capital One Bank at West 23rd Street and Ninth avenue at 9:23 a.m. After threatening the teller and demanding cash, the teller coughed up an undetermined amount of money and the man bolted south on Ninth Avenue.

Police described the senior as five-foot-six with a slim build and white hair and was last seen wearing a black jacket over a red polo shirt.
