The driver was attacked and punched in the head after he got out of his car, police said.

CHELSEA, NY — A group of between 30 and 40 of cyclists intimidated a driver and hit him in head on Saturday, police said.
The cyclists, who police have not identified, drove against traffic on Seventh Avenue on Saturday, according to authorities. The group surrounded a car in traffic at about 3:50 p.m., "putting a 44-year-old male in fear," the NYPD said in a statement.
The group was "driving around recklessly," before they "did damage one vehicle as well as assaulted another individual that I guess confronted them and got out of his vehicle," NYPD Chief of Patrol Rodney Harrison said at a press conference on Tuesday.
