Firefighters extinguished a fire at 10 Hudson Yards on Thursday afternoon, fire officials said. No injuries were immediately reported.

CHELSEA, NY — Firefighters responded to a blaze in a Hudson Yards building on Thursday afternoon, officials said.

The fire department has extinguished a fire at 501 W. 30th St., a 55-story building on the West Side of Manhattan. The building is also listed under the address 10 Hudson Yards. (A fire department spokesman previously said the fire was in a building at 520 W. 30th St., but later clarified that the correct address was 501 W. 30th St.)

The fire is believed to have started on a balcony on the 23rd story of the building. Firefighters first responded to the address at 3:05 p.m. and declared the situation under control at about 4:19 p.m., a fire department spokesman said. No injuries were immediately reported, the spokesman said. More than 100 firefighters were on scene to extinguish the fire and search the building, he added.

A fire department spokesman did not immediately have details on how the fire started or how big it was.

Multiple commercial tenants of 10 Hudson Yards reported that the building was evacuated while firefighters responded to the fire. A spokesman for Hudson Yards said that four floors of the 55-story building were evacuated "out of an abundance of caution," adding that the rest of the building "continued with normal business operations." The evacuated employees returned to their offices shortly after the fire was extinguished, he said.
