An Island Escape

An island escape to the Little Island is just what the doctor ordered for a peace of mind while taking in the city's beauty.

Once upon a time not so long ago, a little island came to be in a city as mighty as can be. The little island stood by the edge of the river overlooking the tall giants of the city. Little did people know that this little island will save the big city from its worries and miseries. This island is special, you see flowers of all colors grow on its pillars over tiers of terraces and spiral pathways that bring your eyes to the horizon line and up and up and beyond. The little island day by day grew famous and people from all over started frolicking to see what is so special about the island that is built on the water. It didn't take imagination to see that the island is as beautiful as can be. Yet, with a strong dose of imagination, the island came to be.

On a beautiful sunny day, I took my family and decided to escape away from the noise, the hustle and the bustle to a much needed greenery. We steadily walked a few feet away from the metropolis city and stepped into an island escape of heavenly appeal. The modern façade with trees and shrubs, the pathways with hidden shaded nooks with benches that overlooked the majestic city all dazzled that day and brought us much needed escape into a world of our own not at all far away from the center of it all.
The city of NY did well by its people, it brought them an island escape in the middle of it all. Bravo to a city that helps its people to mediate upon nature and take in the beauty of its landscape, cityscape and marvelous architecture all at the same time. If you are in NYC, immerse and escape into a fairy-tale of an island that will take your mind away. Little Island will set your mind at ease and put you in the right mood to face any day.
Little Island is located at Pier 55 at Hudson River Park Hudson River Greenway, NY 10014
