'Major' Gas Leak Reported Near High Line In Chelsea
Firefighters are responding to a gas main break reported at the intersection of West 19th Street and 10th Avenue in Chelsea.

CHELSEA, NY — A "major" gas leak was reported in Chelsea on Monday morning, fire officials said.
Emergency responders are on the scene at West 19th Street and 10th Avenue, near the High Line, where a mains break was reported at about 9:07 a.m., a spokesman for the fire department said. The incident was placed under control and the gas was shut off as of 10:45 a.m., fire officials said later.
Authorities are telling people in the area to call 911 if they smell gas. Officials also say to expect traffic delays near in the intersection while emergency responders attend to the incident.

The NYPD said on Twitter that the gas leak originated from a construction site near the intersection, and that the area was shut down while responders investigated.
No injuries have been reported, officials said.
