MIDTOWN, NY - A 76-year-old straphanger was hospitalized after he was struck by a train at the Herald Square Station early Friday, authorities said.

The strike took place about 1:12 a.m. after the straphanger came in contact with a southbound F train at Sixth Avenue and West 34th Street, police said.

Medics rushed the victim to Bellevue Hospital where he was treated for a shoulder injury, police said. He is expected to recover.

No criminality is suspected in connection with the incident, police said.
