Man In Coma After Car Hits Him As He Flirts With Woman: Report

A man who was hit by a car while flirting with a woman in Chelsea is now in a coma, reported the New York Post.

CHELSEA, NY — A 24-year-old man who was rammed by an SUV while flirting with a woman in Chelsea is in a coma, the New York Post reports. The man, Khorey Rice, was angling for the woman's phone number at West 18th Street near Tenth Avenue when he was struck by a car crossing the street and was placed in a medically induced coma, Rice's step mother told The Post on Sunday.

Rice is recovering from his injuries in Bellevue Hospital and, although he is expected to survive, he was place into a coma to allow his brain to heal. He may have memory loss.

“They said he’ll be there [in the ICU] for at least four weeks and that when he wakes up he might not remember anything,” Rice's stepmother told the newspaper. “He’s got stitches in the back of his head like a ‘V.'"
