Meatpacking District BID To Host Indoor Block Party

An "indoor block party" will bring retailers, restaurants and other community groups together in the Meatpacking District.

MEATPACKING DISTRICT, NY — Local businesses, restaurants and bars will gather under one roof on Thursday night for Open Market, an annual indoor block party where locals can get a taste of the Meatpacking District's offerings.

Here are all of the details for Thursday's event:

When is it? This year's Open Market is Thurs., March 8 from 6:30 p.m. to 10:30 p.m.

Where is it? The event is hosted at the Highline Stages, 441 W. 15th St.

What will the block party entail? The block party comes courtesy of the Meatpacking District's Business Improvement District, which is dedicated to supporting the local neighborhood and its businesses. Two floors at the Highline Stages will be completely dedicated to local businesses, with snacks and drinks from bars and restaurants plus lots of retail items available for you to purchase. The night will also include a silent auction and live music.

How much does it cost? A general admission ticket costs $150 and comes with a $25 shopping credit. VIP tickets are $350.

Where does all that money go? The proceeds from Open Market go to the Meatpacking District Improvement Association, and will contribute to beautifying 14th Street.
