Neon Parade, Free Holiday Fun Coming To Flatiron Thursday

CHELSEA, NY - Holiday fun is in full swing in Chelsea, complete with a new parade and holiday programming scheduled for this week.

Dubbed the Flatiron NoMad “Winter Glow” series, the spate of seasonal festivities around the Flatiron Public Plaza will kick off on Nov. 30 with a neon parade, holiday tunes, performances by Bond Street Theatre, a large LED public art installation and more (view full schedule below).

Sponsored by the Flatiron NoMad Partnership, the parade will begin at Broadway and 28th Street and will end at the Flatiron Public Plaza on 23rd Street. A speaking program will follow at the plaza, as well as the unveiling of interactive public art installation Control No Control, a large-scale LED cube that reacts to touch and movement.

"We invite everyone to join us in celebrating the holiday season as we illuminate the streets with art, music, and the warmth of community."

The fun continues Tuesdays and Thursdays throughout December from 4:30 to 6:30 p.m., with holiday-themed historic walking tours every Sunday, a tree lighting in Madison Square Park on Dec. 6, a silent disco night on Dec. 14 and more. You can view the full lineup of events here.

Here’s the full schedule for Thursday’s kick off event:

• 4:30 p.m. – Bond Street Theatre performance @ Broadway & 28th Street
• 4:45 p.m. – “Glowy” neon parade begins, from Broadway & 28th Street down to the Flatiron Public Plaza
• 5:15 p.m. – Bond Street Theatre performance @ Flatiron North Public Plaza
• 5:30 p.m. – Unveiling of Control No Control + speaking program
