New Chinese Restaurant, ‘Grandma’s Home,’ Coming To Flatiron In 2024
A Chinese restaurant with over 200 locations in 60 cities is opening its first U.S. location in the Flatiron District early next year.
FLATIRON DISTRICT, NY - A Chinese restaurant with over 200 locations in 60 cities is opening in the Flatiron District early next year.
Located at 56 W. 22nd St. between Fifth and Sixth Avenues, Grandma’s Home will offer an Offers an “authentic modern Chinese dining experience,” while also weaving in New York City culture, a company spokesperson told Patch. The restaurant is slated to open in late January or early February.
Expect Hangzhou specials from Clay Pot Chicken with Green Tea to Soy Glazed Crispy Fish and Longjing Green Tea Shrimp, as well as favorites from around China, served at the former site of NY Cake, which closed in 2018 after a 30-year run.

The Flatiron location will be the chain’s first U.S. location. Julia Zhu, the daughter of one of the restaurant’s founders, is helming the new restaurant’s opening.
