NEW YORK, NY — The first weekend of November is here and pleasant weather is expected for the next few days in New York City.
From a veteran's appreciation parade in Brooklyn to a massive street fair in Manhattan, there are plenty of options for those looking to get out of the house this weekend.

Saturday
Union Square Autumn Fair: Union Square, Manhattan
The street fair will take place from 10 a.m. to 6 p.m. on Broadway between 17th and 23rd streets.

There will be more than 20 food booths, 50 merchandise booths, and more.

Veterans Appreciation Parade & Resource Fair: Park Place, Brooklyn
A trio of Brooklyn community boards are coming together to host a Veterans Appreciation Day Parade in honor of Veteran's Day next week.
The parade will kick off at 11 a.m. at 1676 Park Pl., and the fair will last until 4 p.m.

Hudson River Pumpkin Smash: Pier 84 in Manhattan
Hudson River Park is hosting its annual event where New Yorkers can come and smash their leftover Halloween pumpkins that will then be repurposed as compost by park staff.
This year's event will take place from 11 a.m. to 2 p.m. at Pier 84, which is near West 44th Street and Tenth Avenue.

New York City Marathon: All five boroughs
The 2022 TCS New York City Marathon will send 50,000 people running 26.2 miles across the five boroughs, from a start in Staten Island to victory in Central Park.
This year's race begins at 9 a.m., though start times are spaced out.
You can watch from various places throughout the city, or make the trek to Central Park to see runners finish the race.
For the first time since the pandemic hit New York City, the race will be run at full capacity.
Pumpkin Smash and Pony Ride: Sheepshead Bay, Brooklyn
For those looking to smash their left over Halloween pumpkins and enjoy some other fun activities, Green Meadows Farms at 3159 Flatbush Ave. is hosting a day of fun.
Along with the pumpkin destruction there will be friendly farm animals, hay rides, a bulldozer, and a roller slide.

Bushwick Film Festival: Bushwick/Williamsburg, Brooklyn
The Bushwick Film Festival will be running through Nov. 7, and you can check out the 15th rendition of the event this weekend.
There are options to check out live screenings, panels, special events, and watch more than 100 independent films.
