CHELSEA, NY — Police released a photo for the first time Tuesday of a person involved in a deadly hit-and-run cyclist collision in Chelsea earlier in August.

A 44-year-old man was crossing the street on Aug. 11 at West 22nd Street and Eighth Avenue, when a cyclist riding northbound through the same intersection collided with the pedestrian, police said.

Both people were thrown to the ground, but the unidentified cyclist popped back up off the street, re-mounted the bike, and fled the Lower Manhattan street, police said.
