Tourists Suspected Of Racially-Charged Chelsea Attack: Report
The brutes who broke a man's jaw after calling him a racial slur may be tourists who've already fled the U.S., according to a report.
CHELSEA, NY — Police believe the three brutes who broke a black man's jaw in a hate-fueled Chelsea attack are tourists who have already left the country, the Daily News reported.
The suspects attacked 27-year-old aspiring musician Brian Reynolds on Seventh Ave. and W. 26th Street on Monday at 2:30 a.m. after calling him a racial slur, police said. One of the men flung a metal garbage bin at Reyolds, which busted his jaw.
“What the f--k are you looking at, n----r?” one suspect told the victim, the Daily News reported.

Authorities tracked the three attackers using surveillance footage to a nearby hotel where they were told the three men are tourists visiting from another country, police sources told the newspaper.
Reynolds was on his way home after working at a nearby nightclub when he was jumped by the men. His girlfriend, Sonya Morrison, told The News that the attack came as a shock but that she wasn't surprised that racism fueled it.
“Racism is alive and well in the United States, period," she told the newspaper. "I'm not surprised this happened in New York City."
