Trump Surrogate's 'Mazel Tov Cocktail' Gaffe Inspires NYC Mixologists to Make Their Own
What's your version of a 'Mazel Tov cocktail'?

CHELSEA, NY — New York City's bars are collectively responding to the hilarious gaffe that Donald Trump surrogate Scottie Nell Hughes made on CNN when she said "Mazel Tov cocktail" instead of Molotov cocktail.
If there was ever a place you should be able to find an actual, "Mazel Tov cocktail," it's New York.
Hughes was talking on CNN Sunday night about a Jay-Z video that featured Molotov cocktails being thrown into a crowd, and how much that offended her "as an Evangelical Christian."

But instead of saying the right word, she said the Jewish phrase for "congratulations."
Of course, mixology bars chimed in with their own "Mazel Tov cocktail" recipes to the New York Daily News. The Tippler on W. 15th Street beneath the Chelsea Market created the $13 The Mazel Tov, with two dashes of Angostura bitters, 3/4-ounces of lemon juice, 1/2-ounces of cane syrup, 1/4-ounces of allspice dram, and two ounces of Plantation Original Dark rum. The bar says to combine and shake all other ingredients in a shaker tin with ice, strain into a double-rocks glass, and then... of course... float some Manischewitz wine on it. Put a maraschino cherry and an orange slice on a skewer for a garnish.
