Woman Swipes Glasses In Cell Phone Grab Attempt Near Union Square: PD
A woman swiped eyeglasses instead of the cell phone she reportedly targeted during a Union Square theft early Friday, police said.

UNION SQUARE, NY - A woman swiped eyeglasses instead of the cell phone she reportedly targeted during theft near the Union Square subway station early Friday, police said.
A 22-year-old woman was walking near the 14 Street-Union Square subway station turnstiles on Dec. 8 about 1:33 a.m. when a woman grabbed her hand and snatched her cell phone, police said.
A struggle for the phone ensued and, as the victim was recovering her cell phone from the ground, the would-be thief snatched the victim's glasses and fled on foot, police said.

The swiper is described as a woman about 20 to 30 years old, police said.
