Crime Log: Shopping Spree with Stolen Credit Card
A look at recent criminal activity in Commack.

The following information was supplied by the Suffolk County Police Department. A criminal charge is only an accusation, and does not indicate convictions.
- A 26-year-old Commack woman was arrested Oct. 13 on a charge of assault with intent to cause physical injury, a misdemeanor, after she allegedly cut another person with scissors and broke the victim's cell phone within her home on Moreland Road.
- A 23-year-old Commack resident was arrested Oct. 21 after he allegedly went on a shopping spree around town last month with another person's credit card. According to police, the man used a fraudulent debit card at Staples in Commack on Sept. 18. Police said that same day, he used stolen credit card information to purchase an Xbox game from Target and a tablet from Walmart. The man was charged with identity theft in the third degree, a misdemeanor, and faces up to a year in jail if found guilty.
- Two burglaries were reported this week including one on Sheldon Place in Commack on Oct. 21, in which police said the alleged burglar attempted to enter a home by prying open a window, but was not successful. A second incident of burglary occurred the next day on Astor Court, in which police said a burglar entered the home through a sliding glass door and took jewelry and an iPad from the home.
