- A person broke into a resident’s car and stole a pocketbook, cash and credit cards, while the driver was attending a 9/11-memorial ceremony around 7:10 p.m. at Commack High School last Wednesday. According to police, the alleged thief entered the unlocked 2011 Honda Odessy and removed the items.
- Multiple stolen credit cards have been used at a Hess gas station, located at 5087 Jericho Turnpike in Commack since Sept. 1, police said, after another incident of the crime was reported Sept. 11.
- An attempted burglary was reported Sept. 15 at Marie Crescent in Commack. According to police, the alleged burglar entered the resident’s home through the backyard round 6:30 p.m., forced open a locked fence, damaged a screen window and window frame, but when not able to enter the house.
