Garage Sale Raises More Than $5K For Cystic Fibrosis

A garage sale held at a Commack home on Saturday, May 7 .

Furniture, clothing, hand bags and toys lined the front yard of the house as crowds of shoppers looking for bargains showed up in droves.

In total, the yard sale raised $5,111, all of which will be donated to the Cystic Fibrosis Foundation, said Karen Ciardullo of Stony Brook. Ciardullo, along with her four sisters, organized the sale as a fundraiser for their 19-yeard-old nephew Jonathan Spero, who was diagnosed with the genetic disease as an infant.
