Motorcyclist Critically Injured In Commack Motor Vehicle Crash

The motorcyclist crashed into a vehicle that was turning into a parking lot, police say.

COMMACK, NY — A motorcyclist was seriously injured in a crash with a motor vehicle in Commack on Thursday night, Suffolk police said.

Adam Harris, 25, of Central Islip, was operating a Yamaha motorcycle eastbound on Veterans Memorial Highway when he crashed into a 2017 Subaru, traveling westbound, that was turning into a parking lot in front of 50 Veterans Memorial Highway at 7:20 p.m., police said.

Harris was transported to South Shore University Hospital in Bay Shore in critical condition, police said.

The driver of the Subaru, a 19-year-old Commack resident, was not injured. Both vehicles were impounded for safety checks.
