A student was approached by an unknown woman last week while waiting at his bus stop.

The Commack School District posted an alert Friday concerning an incident in which a student was approached by an adult stranger while waiting at his bus stop.

According to the district alert, a middle-aged woman approached a Commack Middle School student while he was waiting at his bus stop, located at Lauren Avenue and Pashen Place in Dix Hills the morning of Dec. 19. The student described the woman as having brown hair that was grey on the sides of her head. She was said to have been driving a dark red, four-door, older model vehicle. School administrators said that she asked the student a question about his family, which he did not answer.
