Where to Celebrate Midnight Mass
Here is a sampling of churches in and around Commack that have late-night services on Christmas Eve.
Happy Christmas Eve, Commack. For those looking to welcome in Christmas at midnight, there are a number of local churches holding late-night and midnight Mass. Please add any services we may have missed in the comments section at the bottom of this article.
Christ the King Church: One can enjoy midnight Mass Dec. 24, as well as 11 p.m. Christmas readings and carols on Christmas Eve at this Roman Catholic church at 2 Indian Head Road in Commack. On Christmas Day, Mass will be held at 8 a.m., 10 a.m. and noon.
Commack United Methodist Church: This church doesn't quite have a midnight service, but does offer an 11p.m. candlelight service in the sanctuary.
St. Matthew RC Church: A midnight Mass will be held with a choral prelude at 11:30 p.m. at 35 North Service Road, Dix Hills.
Calvary Lutheran Church: This Lutheran Church also offers a slightly earlier candlelight service at 11 p.m. at 860 Town Line Road in Happauge.
Smithtown United Methodist Church: A family Christmas candle lighting will be held at 7 p.m., and and candlelight worse with the Praise Band will take place at 11 p.m.
