A woman was killed Monday morning when her vehicle crashed into a tree on the northbound side Sunken Meadow Parkway, south of Jericho Turnpike.
New York state Police are investigating the crash, which occurred at 7 a.m.
According to a police statement, Reina Flores-Chicas, 61, of Brentwood, was driving a 2009 Nissan when she drove off the roadway and struck a tree on the right shoulder.
Chicas-Flores was pronounced dead at the scene of the accident scene by emergency medical technicians.
