2 Men Attempted To Rob Deer Park Bank; Both Arrested: Police

One man, who has been charged in four other bank robberies, allegedly handed the bank teller a note demanding cash, police said.

DEER PARK, NY — Two men, including one who has allegedly robbed four banks, were arrested for attempting to rob a Deer Park bank yesterday afternoon, Suffolk County Police said.

Shortly before 4:50 p.m. Thursday, Dominic Scotto, 31, of Mastic entered the Chase Bank at 615 Grand Blvd., Deer Park, and handed a teller a note demanding cash, police said.

Police said the teller declined and Scotto left the bank without money.

Scotto was arrested in front of the bank at around 4:50 p.m. and was charged with four counts of third-degree robbery, third-degree attempted robbery, and a parole warrant.

An investigation by Major Case Unit detectives found that Scotto allegedly robbed four banks over the last few weeks:

Scotto's driver, Adam Postiglione, 32, of West Islip was also arrested. Postiglione was charged with third-degree attempted robbery.

Police said both were held overnight at the Fourth Precint and their arraignment date is pending.
