Babylon Chooses New Trash Collector
Newsday reports that Jody Enterprises has signed a 10-year contract with the Town.

Babylon Town residents will soon see a new carting company picking up their garbage each week.
According to a report in Newsday, the Town has awarded a new 10-year contract to Jody Enterprises of Babylon, Inc. The company is a subsidiary of Jody Enterprises Inc., which currently hauls trash for more than 30,000 homes in Brookhaven, Huntington, Islip and Smithtown.
With the new contract, Town officials estimate a savings of about $10 million over the first year, Newsday reported, adding that it was not known what impact this might have on taxes for next year.
