In a post titled the blogger writes that there is a three-hour window of opportunity to get someone who is having a stroke to a doctor to have a "good chance the neurologist can reverse the effects of the stroke."

"The patient must be in the doctors care, diagnosed and medically treated all within that three-hour window if there is going to be a good outcome."

In another recent post, the center gives advice on what to do if you're alone and think you're having a heart attack.

"Here is a scenario: You are driving by yourself. You experience very severe pain in your chest. You are a few miles away from the closest hospital, but you aren't sure you can hold on that long."

Two pieces of advice they impart are to start coughing and take deep breaths.
