Brooklyn Man Dies In Long Island Pool: Police

A Brooklyn man was pronounced dead after being found unresponsive in a Long Island pool Friday morning, police say.

WYANDANCH, NY — A Brooklyn man drowned in a backyard pool early Friday morning, according to Suffolk County police.

Kenneth Murphy, 29, of Brooklyn, died while swimming in a backyard pool on Jamaica Avenue in Wyandanch early Friday morning, police said.

Police arrived at the scene after receiving a 911 call reporting that Murphy was unresponsive in the pool and performed CPR on him but were unable to revive him, police said.

Murphy was pronounced dead at the scene, police said.
