Deer Park Class of 2013 Top 10: Christopher Cook

No. 3 - Christopher Cook

Chris has been a member of the Guitar Ensemble since freshman year, and his guitar teacher identifies him as a leader in the classroom and a role model for his peers. He is a member of Tri-M – the Music Honor Society, which is based on both musical and academic achievement, and he has been playing in the pitt orchestra for the school musicals, where he has had the opportunity to play lead guitar alongside district music teachers.  

Chris is a young man who thrives when faced with a challenge, and enjoys working hard to meet that challenge.  As an example, Chris chose to compete at NYSSMA in both classical and jazz guitar throughout the past few years, and in doing so, had to prepare high-level musical pieces to play in front of the judges.  

Next year, Chris plans to major in Accounting, and will attend either Hofstra University of Stony Brook University.
