Deer Park District Appoints New Middle School Associate Principal
Jenny Dixon, an educator of 17 years, was recently appointed as associate principal for curriculum, instruction and assessment.

DEER PARK, NY — The Deer Park School District recently appointed a new administrator.
Jenny Dixon will be the new associate principal for curriculum, instruction and assessment of John F. Kennedy Intermediate School, the district said.
She replaces Marilin Gutierrez, who is now the director of ENL, bilingual and world languages for the Central Islip School District.

Dixon has spent 17 years working in Deer Park as a special education teacher, most recently at JFK and previously at May Moore Primary School. She has served on the Multi- Tiered System of Supports and Building Safety committees, and has served for three years as the summer academic program adviser.
A Sayville resident, Dixon earned her bachelor’s degree with a certification in general education and special education from Dowling College, a master’s degree in special education from Dowling College, and her educational leadership degree from Stony Brook University, the district said.

“I’m ecstatic to join the administrative team here at JFK,” Dixon said. “I look forward to working closely with Mrs. Benson, Mr. McLeod and staff, to create a safe, comfortable learning environment for our students. I foresee an open and collaborative dialog with parents and the community to ensure success.”
