Deer Park Driver Strikes Police Vehicles, Is Found with Cocaine, Prescription Pills

A woman crashed into multiple cop cars in attempt to flee. Officials found her incoherent and unable to stand or speak at the scene.

Police say a Deer Park woman was found highly intoxicated and in possession of cocaine and prescription drugs, after she crashed into multiple police vehicles in an attempt to flee from authorities.

On Dec. 28, at approximately 12:38 p.m., New York State Police patrolling the Southern State Parkway responded to numerous calls of a vehicle being driven in an erratic manner travelling southbound on the Sagtikos Parkway just north of the Southern State Parkway. 

Motorists reported that a vehicle, a red Chevrolet Cavalier, driven by Kim T. Trebing, 44, of Deer Park, had entered the Southern State Parkway traveling westbound driving all over the road and blocking traffic. Several marked police units responded, found the vehicle at the vicinity of exit 39S and attempted to stop it. Troopers said the driver refused to comply to their attempts to stop the vehicle and a pursuit ensued with the car travelling at speeds between 35 and 60 miles-per-hour weaving across all three lanes.

According to police, the troopers positioned their patrol vehicles to attempt to make a stop the driver accelerated and struck the patrol vehicle in the rear. After an initial impact with a marked police unit the Chevrolet entered the grass center median, struck the guiderail, bounces off, re-enters the roadway and strikes two patrol vehicles, several times, in an attempt to avoid being stopped. Troopers eventually brought Trebing to a stop and found incoherent and unable to speak with them at the scene, they said. According to officials, she was unable to stand and appeared to be in a highly intoxicated condition.

Trebing was placed under arrest and her vehicle impounded. After her arrest she was found to be in possession of Cocaine and prescription pills. Due to her condition she was transported to the hospital and arrested for Reckless Endangerment, Criminal Possession of a Controlled substance fifth and seventh degree, criminal mischief in the second degree for the damage to the police cars, unlawful fleeing and driving while ability impaired by drugs. After being released from the hospital Trebing was remanded to the Suffolk County Fourth Precinct awaiting morning arraignment.
