Suffolk Employee Charged With Selling E-Cigs To Minor: Cops

The convenience store was also shut down, police say.

DEER PARK, NY — A convenience store employee was arrested and charged on Tuesday afternoon after he sold e-cigarettes to a minor in Deer Park, Suffolk County police said.

In response to numerous community complaints, around 3:30 p.m., officers investigated the sale of e-cigarettes at AAA Convenience & Tobacco, located at 181 Bay Shore Rd.

Police worked in conjunction with Town of Babylon and Code Enforcement officials.

The 37-year-old employee of the store was charged with sale of restricted e-cigarettes, a misdemeanor, police said.

The Town of Babylon also issued building code violations and summonses to the business and property owners, and the business was shut down.

The employee, of Deer Park, was also issued a field appearance ticket and is scheduled to appear at First District Court in Central Islip on Feb. 17.
