Deer Park Man Spreads Alzheimer's Awareness In DC: Report

Retired FDNY firefighter Jeff Ray, whose wife suffers from Alzheimer's, pained "Alzheimer's Lives Matter" on his roof, News12 reported.

DEER PARK, NY — A Deer Park man traveled to Washington, D.C. in April to advocate for people struggling with Alzheimer's disease, according to a recent report by News12.

Retired FDNY firefighter Jeff Ray first caught the outlet's attention when he pained the words "Alzheimer's Lives Matter" on his roof after his wife, Bonnie, was diagnosed with early-onset Alzheimer's in 2020 at just 57 years old, News12 reported.

To support Bonnie, Ray joined The American Association of Retired Persons and traveled to a two-day event in the nation's capital to help pass legislation to support caregivers struggling with supporting a loved one with the disease, according to News12.
