Deer Park Student-Musician Chosen For All-County Jazz Ensemble.
The senior is one of only two alto saxophonists selected, the district says.

DEER PARK, NY — A Deer Park student was recently recognized for her musical accomplishments.
Sarah Naqvi, a senior at Deer Park High School, was recently selected to perform with
the Suffolk County Music Educators’ Association’s All-County Jazz Ensemble.
She had the distinction of being selected after auditioning for the group last spring and was one of only two alto saxophonists selected for the group from Suffolk County, the district said.

In addition to playing the saxophone, Sarah is an accomplished flutist and member of both the wind ensemble and jazz ensemble at Deer Park High School.
“I’m very pleased that Sarah received both the recognition and the opportunity to perform alongside other talented and dedicated students from Suffolk County who are interested in pursuing jazz studies," said band director Louis Nicolosi. "I couldn't be happier for her. She worked very hard for this."
