Suffolk Teen Seriously Injured In Fall From Moving Car: Police
The teen fell and hit his head on the pavement, police say.
DEER PARK, NY — A 17-year-old was seriously injured on Sunday night, after he fell off a moving car in Deer Park, Suffolk County police, said.
Around 8:30 p.m., the Deer Park teen was standing on a running board while holding on to the roof rack of a 2014 Jeep Grand Cherokee that was driven by his friend. They were on the southbound lanes of West 4th Street, between Grand Boulevard and Park Avenue. He fell off the car and hit his head on the pavement, police said.
He was taken to Good Samaritan University Hospital in West Islip with serious, but non-life-threatening, injuries, police said. His friend, also 17, of Deer Park, was not hurt.

The Jeep was impounded for a safety check. Anyone with information on the incident is asked to call 631-854-8152.
