Fire Department Urges Residents To Clear Hydrants
Snow causes potential hazard for life-saving emergency actions.
Local residents are urged to shovel a pathway around fire hydrants in the area so that volunteers have access to them in case of a fire.
"Now that the blizzard is over please take 10 minutes to clear that fire hydrant in front of your home of the snow," a message from the Deer Park Fire Department reads. "Remember this could save your life."
Fire officials say that the matter is absolutely urgent in case of a blaze.
