NORTH BABYLON, NY — When times are tough, heroes emerge. We all know someone who's making a difference right now as we live through unprecedented times. Here at Patch, we've launched an initiative to help recognize these everyday heroes.

Lisa and Lew Kaplan nominated their daughter Nicole Rose Kaplan, a Nursing Assistant in the ICU at Good Samaritan Hospital Medical Center.

She is our hero. She graduated from Adelphi University May 20 but of course everything has been canceled. She will take her boards soon and become an RN. She has a heart of gold. She loves making people feel better and smile.
