NORTH BABYLON, NY — The Town of Babylon is hosting a career fair aiming to help young adults and recent graduates who may not be pursuing traditional college paths.
The fair will connect guests with a wide range of career options, including opportunities in skilled trades, emergency services and healthcare.

Attendees will have the chance to meet representatives from trade unions, first responder agencies, healthcare organizations and a variety of local private sector companies offering career options.
Town of Babylon Councilmen Anthony Manetta and Terence McSweeney are hosting the event. The duo found inspiration in a 2023 survey conducted by the Federal Reserve Bank of New York that highlights the need to fill the pending workforce shortages across the region that cited an aging population, lack of affordable housing and high cost of living as the causes of a significant worker shortage on Long Island.

"This event is an excellent resource for young people and their families to learn about career paths that do not require a four-year degree," Manetta said. "We are bringing together local employers, manufacturing companies, trade unions, and professionals to help connect our students to good-paying, stable jobs right here on Long Island."
The career fair is presented in conjunction with the Long Island Federation of Labor, AFL-CIO, and the Building and Construction Trades Council of Nassau and Suffolk Counties, AFL-CIO, and the Town of Babylon Chamber of Commerce Collaborative.
