Man Crashed Tesla Impaired By Drugs, Alcohol: Police

A man driving a Tesla was arrested after a DWI crash sent two young women to the hospital on Long Island, Suffolk County police told Patch.

NORTH BABYLON, NY — A man was arrested after a DWI crash sent two young women to the hospital on Long Island, Suffolk County police told Patch.

Suffolk County Police responded to a two-vehicle crash at the intersection of Deer Park Avenue and Garnet Street in North Babylon on Wednesday.

Ishiah Galloway, 20, of Patchogue driving a 2023 Tesla sedan southbound on Deer Park Avenue when his vehicle struck a 2018 Ford SUV traveling westbound on Garnet Street around 7:45 p.m., police said.

Police said the Ford's driver, Kiara Groce, 22, and her passenger, Emily Groce, 22, both of Bay Shore, were transported via North Babylon Rescue to Good Samaritan University Hospital in West Islip for treatment of non-life-threatening injuries.

Galloway was arrested for driving while ability impaired by both alcohol and drugs, police said.
