Man Fatally Struck By LIRR Near Wyandanch Station: MTA

This is the second train fatality to occur this station within one week.

WYANDANCH, NY — A man was tatally struck by a Long Island Railroad (LIRR) train in Wyandanch on Monday, the Metropolitan Transportation Authority (MTA) police confirmed with Patch.

Demetrius T. Houanche, 30, of Deer Park, was struck while he was on the tracks near Pinelawn at about 9 p.m. near the Pinlawn Station in Wyandanch, an MTA spokesperson said.

An investigation is still ongoing.
