Man Tried To Lure Girl Into Car With Candy On Long Island: Police
A man, exhibiting lewd behavior, used candy to try and coerce a young girl into his car on Long Island on Monday, police say.
WYANDANCH, NY — Police arrested a man who used candy to try and lure a young girl into his car on Monday afternoon, official said.
According to Suffolk County police, an 11-year old girl was walking on Patton Avenue in Wyandanch around 3 p.m. when a man driving a 2007 gray Chevrolet stopped and asked her multiple times to get into his car.
Police said the man, while exhibiting lewd behavior, offered the girl candy in exchange for getting into the car.

The man was later identified as Galo Macasfreire, 38, of Wyandanch; he was arrested at 3:30 p.m. on the same street and charged with endangering the welfare of a child, police said.
He was held overnight at the First Precinct and is slated to be arraigned at First District Court in Central Islip on Tuesday.
