Multi-Alarm Fire Breaks Out At Deer Park Apartment Building
10 fire departments assisted in battling the "stubborn" blaze.

DEER PARK, NY — A multi-alarm fire that broke out at a Deer Park apartment building on Sunday is under investigation, officials say.
At about 6:13 p.m., the Deer Park Volunteer Fire Department responded to a call of a fire at Maple Crest Apartments, located at Baldwin Path.
Crews battled the "stubborn" two-story apartment building fire and asked for reactivation and additional mutual aid above original preplan.

Nine other fire departments — North Babylon Volunteer Fire Company, Dix Hills Fire Department, Babylon Fire Department, West Islip Fire Department, Brentwood Fire Department, Wyandanch Volunteer Fire Company Incorporated, Lindenhurst Fire Department, Commack Fire Department, and Melville Volunteer Fire Department — provided mutual aid, according to a social media post.

Suffolk County Police Arson Squad also responded.
Two officers were treated for smoke inhalation, police said. It is unclear if anyone else is injured.
Police believe the cause is non-criminal in nature.
