North Babylon School District Appoints New Social Studies Director
The new director replaces Dr. Krystle Barnett.

NORTH BABYLON, NY — The North Babylon School District has a new director of social studies.
Eliot Lewin, who replaces Dr. Krystle Barnett, officially took on the role effective Dec. 19, the district said.
He comes to North Babylon from the Long Beach School District, where he served as vice principal of Long Beach Middle School since July 2019.

Prior to that, Lewin was the director of literacy and advanced studies for grades K-12 at the Commack School District from 2013 to 2019. He’s also worked as a social studies teacher in the Commack School District since 1997.
Lewin holds a Bachelor of Arts degree from SUNY Binghamton and a Master of Science degree from LIU/Post. Lewin also holds certifications in school district administration from Touro College.
"I’m excited to be part of the team at North Babylon Schools and eager to develop relationships with staff and families," Lewin said. "I look forward to supporting students as they acquire deeper understandings of their roles in our ever-changing world."
