DEER PARK-NORTH BABYLON, NY — There is no shortage of things to do in the Deer Park-North Babylon area to get the winter holiday season off to a rollicking good start.
Christmas and Hanukkah, the eight-day Jewish festival of lights, intersect this year, with Hanukkah running Dec. 18-26. Christmas, of course, is on Dec. 25, but you don’t have to wait to start taking in all the sights and sounds of the holidays.

- Holiday Festival & Christmas Tree Lighting
- Tanger Outlets, 152 The Arches Cir, Deer Park, 2 p.m. to 6 p.m.
- Join Tanger Outlets for an afternoon of festive fun activities for the whole family - including holiday music on the Tanger Stage, the official Tanger Christmas Tree Lighting, and photos with Santa and Mrs. Claus.

- North Babylon Fire Company's Holiday Parade & Tree Lighting
- 20 Hale Road, North Babylon, 7 p.m.
- Join the fire company's tradition as their trucks carry Santa in a holiday event. The parade will start at 7 p.m. at Deer Park Ave. and Garnet Street, then travel south to fire headquarters. The tree lighting will take place at 7:30 p.m.

- Deer Park Fire Department Tree Lighting
- 94 Lake Ave, Deer Park, 6 p.m.
- Enjoy the magic of the department's annual tree lighting while putting smiles on children's faces. The company encourages others to donate unwrapped toys for Cohen's Children Medical Center. Gifts can also be dropped off every Wednesday evening.
