Suffolk Clerk Charged With Selling E-Cigarettes To Minor: Police

The convenience store was shut down on Wednesday, police say.

WYANDANCH, NY — A Wyandanch man was arrested Wednesday after police said he sold e-cigarettes to a youth.

A 25-year-old clerk at Alex Convenience Store, located at 301G Merritt Ave., in Wyandanch, was charged with sale of a restricted e-cigarette, police said.

Around 6:30 p.m., in response to community complaints, officers conducted an investigation into the sale of e-cigarettes to minors at Alex Convenience Store.

At that time, the 25-year-old clerk at the store, sold a vape to a minor, police said.

He was arrested and issued a Field Appearance ticket.

The store was also issued numerous code violations. (Town of Babylon)

The Town of Babylon Quality of Life Task Force also issued numerous code violations and shut down the store.

The clerk is scheduled to be arraigned at First District Court in Central Islip on a later date.
