5 Things: Daylight Savings Time and Family Dance Party at Lark

Plus Indie Rock at Sycamore, an author reading at the Cortelyou Library and a fundraising concert at P.S. 193.

 

1. Change the clocks. Yep, it's that time of year again. So move your clocks an hour forward at 2 a.m. To take the edge off, here are five fun Daylight Saving Time facts.

3. Bring music back to P.S. 193. There's also the P.S. 193 Spring Music and Family Festival tonight, which is a fundraiser for the school's slashed music budget. Performers are all professional musicians from the worlds of opera, hip-hop, folk, R&B rock, Spanish and Baroque music. 2515 Avenue L, 2 p.m. $12.

4. Hit the dance floor (without the kids). Local indie band, Ancient History will play at Sycamore tonight. 1118 Cortelyou Rd at Stratford. 9 p.m. $10.

5. Think about our justice system. Today there's a Cortelyou Library Author Reading in which Ditmas Park resident, Michelle Kaminsky, will read from and discuss her recent book "Reflections of a Domestic Violence Prosecutor: Suggestions for Reform." Cortelyou Library, 1305 Cortelyou Rd. at Argyle.  3pm. Free. 

5.5 Do something different. Tonight there's also Brooklyn Creates, which explores the aesthetics of the table through farm-to-table food, eclectic brews from Bitter & Esters and hand crafted glass and metal tableware made by Brooklyn Glass and Prospect Heights' own Brooklyn Metal Works. 142 13th St. at 3rd Avenue in Gowanus. 7 p.m. $25.
